Compared to a few years ago the West Texas oilfield now has cell antennas sprouting from nearly every company vehicle. Coverage hasn’t ever been a problem, so I was thinking maybe these guys are all now having to use tablets or PCs to do the job.

In the mid & late 1990s I was using one of the early WILSON cell phone antennas on an FLD.

You know, back when phones had an antenna port.

I’m sure it’s all much more expensive now to set it up such that the receiver signal is boosted.

Some of the truckstops have displays with equipment.

    And, it’s a business expense.

Expecting full coverage sounds childish. Especially in areas with low population density.

Granted, this is America. Where we pay more and get less.

I find when you wear a tin foil hat that when the cell is near your ear the signal pegs out!!
