Point 1 work 14 hrs another load after that to be picked up then , logging off duty not driving, pti. By the way 7 yrs drivin. I know how work a log, after all I do go though Disney Land in Florida 8 ):
Point 2 I did ask for layover and sent my arrival and detention messages as always send macor 22 I keep track of any extra pay I should receive and if I don't get it I call Dispatcher, Layover, local del. is dm job, not payroll. You need a PO for those, no PO no Pay
Point 3 Yep, sucky miles. How many drivers do you talk to out on the road?
I can only drive the loads that they put on me. This is with compressing hrs for what ever reason. Or pushing out 10 hrs. By the way seed hos every day.
Want to look at my free form messages? What to look at those Q Comm messages that try to harrass me, to pick up a load, knowing I can't del. on time. Then try to get you to commit to preplan.
I am glan to hear someone (you) is doing well, because the majority of drivers are have to do what I do to keep working.
Talking with Division Manager, DM, Fleet Manger to no resolution. Run illegal or go home so we can put some in the truck who will. Which I did run, but only to be put in high risk situations after a week of working illegally and tired, I had to draw the line somewere.
Thats the truth, all documented in Q-Comm I have all load #'s & times to back all this up.
Still need help or direction on how to handle this so maybe, just maybe someone else won't have to.

From what I have heard knight pulls the same carp as other large OTR carriers. No forced dp but if you refuse to do something they will make you pay for it out of your pocket.
I have talked to several of their drivers and it seems that 2 and 3 day layovers are quite common in the southwest unless you are a driver from that area who seem to get preferential treatment. The same goes for load selection out of the Southwest. Out of area drivers get the carp while drivers from Cali and PHX get the gravy runs.
Talked with several drivers who say they do fine on miles until they get a load to LA or PHX and then they sit for days or do local work while the local area drivers drop and hook and are back on the road.
The problem seems to be that the individual terminals take care of their own first and the rest get the leftovers, if there is any.
It seems that the centralization of load planning back to Phoenix and out of the hands of the individual terminals has just made it harder for drivers who are not dp out of the southwest to get a load after they deliver in that area without trial and tribulation. -
If you have it documented that they are forcing you to run illegally, then you need to contact the FMCSA. Ultimately, it's your responsibility to follow the FMCSA / HOS rules and regs. You kill or injure someone while driving illegally, and it will be YOU going to prison. Your carrier will be charged as well, but your life as you know it will be over. Their insurance will pay the claim, and they'll still be running while you sit in a cell next to Bubba.
From the FMCSA website:
If you feel your employer or a driver is violating the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and/or the Hazardous Materials Regulations, or if you have been victimized by a household goods moving company, broker, or any other carrier, you may file a complaint with the FMCSA National Consumer Complaint Database, http://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov/HomePage.asp. You may also call 1-888-DOT-SAFT (368-7238), Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM EST, to speak to a representative who will assist you in filing a complaint. -

Ya might want to hold your tongue on that one, some terminals are slipseating ALL drivers who want to take home time. Next time you are in Tulare, ask around to see which ones are.
Welcome to the new Knight. Just like they started routing and fueling with Denver, they started somewhere else with their new pilot programs. -
As stated by someone else, Depends on your terminal. I've never had any problems running out of Tulare, CA. Drivers from other terminals seem to have an all together different experience.

Well it all started when I could not make a del time on a double preplaned load. So I declined it. (Before these events I could do no wrong, running hard with or without hrs). This was after I had been running and out of hrs. They kept after me to take the loads which normlly they would put them on me as a load ###. But this time it was preplanned. Come to find out the load had to be there on time. If would have been a drop and hook the story would be different. Was told to bring the trc. back and mt it.
Anyway, Had the dispatcher and also divistion manager into a meeting. Confronted dispatch about the harrasing phone calls about that load. And that before all this I could do no wrong. I had Q.Comm load #s and times were the dispatch was hassasing me about not running when I didn't have hrs on different loads. They of course refused to bring the loads up and spun it were I was the one wrong. I kept going back to load numbers but they would'nt hear it. I told them if they accused me of something then were is the proof.
Well, still had to mt out truck and had no truck since 4-16-09 now 4-27-09 -
