just finished my 2nd part of my sleep study and the nurse told me that each doctor gets $350-$500 for refering you to take the test which costs $2500-$3500 .
and why are they only targeting truck drivers?

i've probably had sleep apnea for 20 years and i do new york and new jersey and never had a problem (or accident)

 

Go to the OOIDA web site and read the various articles on sleep apnea and the FMCSA.

One school of thought is the emphasis on sleep apnea and drivers is for the money.

The other is that .. for real.. getting tested and treated for sleep apnea was probably the best thing that happened to me. It probably saved my life.

I've been on a CPAP for sleep apnea for 7 years now.. its the best thing for me.

 

I would say it has alot to do with the irregular working hours that truckers have.
