I just bought a house in Brooksville, closing happens next month.
I do have enough property to park the truck and trailer,.. how ever at the moment the area is wooded and I need to get about 1.5 - 2 acre cleared and get a steel building built before I will have enough room.
For now I need a secure place to park a flatbed with out worry that thieves will pick my trailer and boxes clean. I dont mind paying. I'm paying $100 a month now for a spot in a locked yard with security cameras.
It will be at least 5 - 6 months before I get my property cleared and set up to properly park my truck. So until that happens, I need some input from my fellow brothers.
Thanks,
Hurst

Almost two years ago I was looking for a secured space to park my truck, and one of the people I talked to was Mark Caruthers Contracting. They're just east of Wildwood on rt 44. Here's their info; 4585 County Road 141, Wildwood, FL 34785 (352) 748-2333. They have a fenced in yard with a gate. I know it's a little out of the way for Brooksville, but I thought I'd let you know about it. I think he asked for $160/mo, but I found something else closer to home.

Yeah,.. thats a little far. I was hoping for something around 98 or 50. Maybe even Spring Hill. The place I'm buying is not far from the Sun Coast Parkway.
My wife found my current place, its down in Pasco. 5 mins from home. She just stopped in and asked if they minded a semi truck parking there once a month and how much? She's on the look out now. Just thought I could save her some time networking with fellow drivers.
I do appreciate the info friend.
Drive safe.

I had a home in Brooksville/Weeki Wachee. Right off of 19, it was a new development. I could park at the end, it was a sand road, nobody bothered me. After that not really. The Walmart is way too busy and most people hate trucks in that area.

The house I'm buying is on 5 acres and does have a grassy area where I could theoretically park the truck. But as you know,.. Florida ground is not exactly the most stable earth and I fear by the second or third home time either my wife will want to divorce me because of the ruts or I'll be calling a wrecker to get me unstuck.
I have plans to build a steel building to park my truck in, but need to get rest of the money together before I can commit a contractor to build it for me. That and the driveway will need to be redone. -
You might want to make sure that you can park there on your property, some areas may still have restrictions through the county. My mom back in 69 almost bought a piece of property in Indiana that was less than 10 acres and found out at the last minute it had restrictions on it. She ended up finding 10 acres.

The property I bought in Brooksville is in a mixed zoned area and can actually become a commercial property. My intention is to build up to a small fleet of 8 - 10 trucks. That was the main reason for needing enough land to park the trucks with out being hassled by city or county ordinances. My goal is to get out of the driver seat and try to enjoy being with my family instead of out on the road all the time. All of that is still a few years down the road and depends entirely on how business savvy my wife and I become in this business. Truth be told my wife has a better business sense than I do. I just say 'Yes Dear' and do as I'm told,.

I park my trailer on my property in Pa next to a creek. With all the water runoff going towards the creek it was real soft. I spread a couple tri axles of stone out and id stiffened right up. Always need extra parking just saying.

I pay to park my truck in a secured/gated lot in Hudson off 19, next town over from spring hill. I am actually buying a home in spring hill this month. Anyways if interested i could get the info for you. They may or may not have room as several trucks park there. I think i pay $50 a month. Theres also another truck parking place right off 19 between Hudson and spring hill that is a bigger spot but i have no clue the cost. Probably could find that info for you as well.
