I have a bunch of ex Penske Volvo’s, some are set at 70mph, some at 65, any way to lift the speed limiter without using PTT? I’ve tried through the dash, no good.

How much does the dealer want to change settings? I'm fairly certain that's the easiest route.

Did a quick Google search, this is a hot topic on the Volvos. I don't have the answer and I don't think there is an easy way. Looks like the ECM is password protected and set by the original fleet owner. I believe Tb0n3 response might be the best answer.

If its a fleet owner (Penski) password protection, then you'll have to get with Penski & get the password from them. Its possible that you'll have to take it to a Penski service center so they can use their software that they used to install the password, so they can remove it.
In other words the password may be incorporated into their software.

If its a Penski password, Volvo service centers wont be able to access it (I dont think). So taking it to Volvo may not help you.
The reasoning was so, that you couldn't take it to cousin Jim Bobs truck repair & have him to change the speed with a hijacked Volvo software....
Or just simply get cousin Jim Bob from the Volvo dealer to change it for you. ONLY the Penski software could get into that setting with their software.

I'll go a step further & say that I honestly don't know but, from what I got from Ryder while driving one of their lease trucks, that was my understanding.

All I'm saying is check on it further. Hopefully some others here may be more helpful.

    Good luck.

Try 0000 all the way across its default.password. however just like my 05 I can set it in the dash but need the dealer to actually make it work

If you bought them from Penske give them a call, or even if you didn't. Either was they should steer you in the right direction.

Two ways either go to penske to get the password or go to volvo they have a way to delete the password protection usually cost around 300 or so per vehicle
