Sorry about posting so late. Didn't even see ths one. Yes Nalco is a good company. They P/U from us and we deliver to them and vice versa. There drivers seem to be happy. At least the ones I talked to.

The most important thing to remember is that you never see them talked about on this forum other than what dynosaur stated. There is a good reason for that. No turnover and a good company. Speaks volumes if you ask me. Good luck to all seeking employment with them.

    Drive safe

First off, haven't noticed much of ANY local driving. But, off-hand I'd advise KAG (formerly Benito). They used to have a terminal in Richmond, CA (Benito, that is). Most of the Petro-Chemical truck companies are up in Martinez, CA. An excellent company to call is William's Tank Lines down in San Jose, if they're not hiring just stay on top of them, a friend of mine worked for them and made around $1,500 and up per week, working a 4-day, 12/hr shift per week. You can give Doudell a call, in San Jose, CA. They run the Southwest (dry vans), but they also have fuel tankers running out of their yard (Diamond Tanker Line). In 1998 they were paying about $18/hr. Back then they ran Jet Fuel to Air National Guard Bases in Central Calif., Northern Calif., and some Klamath Falls, OR. Generally, home nightly, and for around 10 yrs. they've been running fuel tankers. But, be warned that they ran with zero respect for HOS. Now that they are running gas tankers I would like to believe they squared-up. They are across from the Great Mall adjacent to Milpitas. Try Reliable liquid Transport, they run Acid Tankers, mainly sulfuric acid and refinery waste (Sludge) which is crude oil with a very high sulfuric acid content (not sure if they still haul it). I was trying to track them down for my work history and they don't appear to have a yard in Martinez, but I did see a Reliable Liquid Transport in Santa Rosa, probably them and they would most likely be working the Martinez refineries. I am in the process of applying to Indian River Transport, they are hiring and are Western 11 (I think). They appear to be a decent company. Can't think of any others off-hand. Good Luck!

My friend, Perry, drove for them a couple of years, then quit to sell artifical grass. He was making about $100,000/yr as a company driver. Now, selling artificial grass he knocking down around $300,000/yr. Unbelievable! But, when he quit Nalco it was all, "Perry, have you lost your mind?" And, I think you got it right on the money---no driver turnover. I don't remember the circumstances as to how he came to work for them; but, I have never seen a single recruitment ad. I remember see NALCO drivers at a tank wash in Portland, OR. They were always polishing their trucks (they did sport a lot of chrome). Perry said the company cracked down on that because it sent out the wrong message. If I had to name the one company that I considered my favorite to work for, it would be NALCO---hand-down the winner. I imagine some driver's would understandably think I'm exagerating, but I saw it first hand. While there are a number of trucking companies where it's possible to make $100,000/yr. With NALCO you have to the meal allowance of $25 ea. for breakfast and lunch, and $45 for dinner, although where you're going to find a TS restaurant that's in that bracket I don't know. Perry said he used very little of the allowance and it was a 'use-it-or-lose-it" kind of deal, same with the nightly hotel/motel allowance of $125/night (maybe even $150, can't recall), but I'd sure like the opportunity to have a crack at it!

I'll be talking to Perry in the next couple of weeks and get what info I can get to you ASAP. Realistically? Don't hold your breath, like the other driver said, there is just very little turn-over; nevertheless, as with any company, there's always some. But, with this economy, I can't see why anyone would be so foolish as to quit a company like that; although turnover is always about quitting, is it?

Sounds good. The only problem is I live in Indy. There are 2 local adds for fuel haulers and they pay $14 per hour. Seems low to me?

Klemm tank lines has a term. in Indy they are also part of kag, their pay is 20 per hour
look up the [admin snip] for info,I've been with advantage for over three years. We are also part of kag
If you want to run tanker wether its food grade, fuel, chemical, ethanol, blackoil, asphalt, anything you can put in a tanker then kag is the one
even in todays economy were not short of work
kag group is advantage, north canton tranfer, bxi, klemm, kagwest, keenan transport, pct. Alot of term. have sleeper trucks if you like otr or regional, the daycabs are mostly for gas. I forgot they just bought out transport sevice company about a year ago.
