I was rear ended in my semi,in a very serious accident years ago. I was waiting at a redlight, and got hit in the back of my lowboy,by a car at full speed. Lots of witnesses,no liability issues, but my trailer had to go in a heavy duty shop several weeks for repairs. The other parties insurance was Geico. I asked for downtime, and it took some arm twisting, lots of calls, but they did agree to it and pay it. I had to supply them with 90 days of previous pay records, and then they paid me an average daily pay for my downtime. And they paid all repairs to my satisfaction. They were tough, but fair,IMHO.

It all depends on the insurance company, We all need to expose the Shysters and praise the Honest ones. Shysters actions should cost them business. I got hit once while parked, by another Driver. Luckily the company. Milan Express paid up. Repairs and 2 weeks net pay at the time. Total $10,000. New Hood, Grill, Bumper Honest Company, at least in my case.I took a chance and didn’t even file an accident report. As the Driver was truly sorry, just made a mistake. Life goes on,can’t be too attached to material items. They come and go.

That last sentence is spot on. Too many people put Too much time into things that mean Too little.

It was in my personal vehicle, But, last October I was rear ended at an intersection pretty hard. My trailer hitch absorbed much of the impact or the rear of my vehicle would have been demolished. In the wreck I got pushed and damaged the rear of a State Trooper vehicle. Anyway, turned out her and I both had Geico and I had absolutely no problems getting my vehicle repaired well and a rental while I was without my vehicle. They did right by me too!
