Sabreline Transportation is a "local" trucking company with offices/warehouses in Toldedo, OH, Saginaw, MI and Menominee, MI. They haul mainly auto parts on 2, 6 and 8 axle trailers. Mainly they drive within Michigan and into and back from Canada.
Stay away from this company. They appear to be in financial jeopardy. This is coming from the amount of payroll checks that are bounced on a regular basis.
They also owe the majority of their employees six weeks of insurance premiums. For the first six weeks of the year they took the premiums out of employee paychecks. But since they weren't paying the company portion of the premium for a month before that, the insurance company dropped them as a customer. The premiums paid by the employees for the first 6 seeks of the year were used to pay the arrearage of the previous month.
The company owes dozens of drivers up to $600 each from 14 weeks ago! One month ago they cut everyones pay, some by 25%. Even after that they still can't pay them back. It's a good idea to stay away if you want to be paid for work performed.

Well opposabethumbs, I was just laid off from a national carrier that haul auto parts for a Japanese company. I would stay clear with carriers that specify in that field in the first place with the way the economy is going

It's looking more and more grim. Apparently trucks are being repossessed at the local truck stop. The driver fuels, goes in to sign the receipt, comes out and meets the repo man. Not only are they losing the truck, they just lost the $300 in fuel they just pumped. Oh, and it's not called Sabreline anymore. It's STI Solutions. Moved their corporate headquarters from Saginaw to Toldeo, OH.

My husband was the wharehouse supervisor for Sabreline in Menominee. He and his boss were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning on 11/6/08, we never received a bill or anything, then he was laid off in January in we received a letter and bill from the hospital on 6/8/09 stating that they called the dept of labor and economic growth work comp division in michigan and there is no work comp insurance registered for Sabreline Transportation. We have contacted Diane Goode in human resources only to be told the bill will be taken care of but still hasn't. I have been trying to talk to someone else in charge at any of their locations but most phone numbers are no longer in service or disconnected. If any one has phone numbers or contact names of anyone who works at Sabreline or STI Solutions (I also called them and have no returned calls), or knows the owners name (I was told it is David Lumsden) and contact information if they could please let me know.

if they had no comp insurance that is like a $500 dollar a day fine per employee and also has jail time involved

Thank you.

I am still there, I do not know why. Maybe I am a gluten for punishment. They do not even have all of the registrations for the trucks. It is just a matter of time. The new dispatcher they sent can not even do all of the pickup numbers himself. He had to hire a secretary with his own money, what a joke.
