why don't you just ask the trailer rental company if they sell former rental trailers?

may even come with a short (30 to 60 day warranty), it would have been (or you ask for ) a DOT inspection, and measurement readings on the brakes, drums. many are serviced, before they are sold. just be sure to inspect the flooring yourself, and have any boards replaced.

I had planned on that myself at first but then the one I leased was only a couple years old and beat to h*ll already. Every one in their yard looked about the same. For the privilege of hauling that pile of crap around I paid $500/mo. as a new O/O. That may not be everywhere but it was my experience. I just couldn't stand to look at the thing any longer.

I went to extra to check out used trailers, 07"s were 10 grand 10'S were 17 Grand no matter what shape , no dickering prices set by corporate, you get what you pick prices stay the same. Good rubber and brakes patched up holes and rusted out tails that need sand blasting and paint, They were some pretty ratty trls. I am looking elsewhere there are better deals to be had.

I called several but they didn't want to rent/lease to a new authority. Everyone said I needed a year at least. I'm past that now so not worried if I ever do need to get one again.

I bought mine from Penske, It was 8 yrs old with 234 k miles, at the time, They’re advertised prices were about average, Had this one at a discount price. I offered them even less, they took it, no counter offer. Its served Me well almost 3 yrs now.

I paid 10 k. Are new prices still up? Demand is supposed to be slowing. End of 9 yr cycle, according to a speech I read about, given at a Manufacturers Association Tradeshow a few yrs back. Best if possible to buy a new one. Reason being, they don’t depreciate like Trucks, about half the rate.I missed out on a brand new dry van $20 k in 2009. When credit markets were froze. Now they’re 30k +

my former employer also leased from penske and because of that, anytime a trailer needed servicing, they ave us another one.

then my employer bought thier own trailers, used but like about a year old, they all had the Hendrickson automatic tire inflation system.
