after the first 28 days money will be slow and comeing so dont get use to that 350 a week the average truck is running 12000 miles a month i got 16000 last month
if you stay out of truck stops you will save money you will on average got paid once a week and not twice you can get paid twice but you would be running short miles
to do so
keep an eye on what you get paid for and dont it took me a month to releize i didnt get paid for a trip as soon as i told them i was paid the next paid day
it is hard to predict what you will be makeing but i will say this
Never be late
i have been late twice due to my partner being to lazy to drive at night
and my miles droppedd contract employess get most of the miles due to we are paid less so the company makes more off of us
but i feel bad if you get stuck with air freight or con way loads they are timed and you have no time to do anything but drive

juan m if your are thinking of becomeing a contract student good luck it is hit and miss on this company it will either be great or a copletly missarable time for you
freight is low and slow in the trucking industry right now but the average truck runs 12000 miles a month right now from what the operation manager told me two days ago -
Well I've been on the road in my training now for 10 days. I've driven 2 chattanooga and back to fontana. So that was two runs. Then i went from fontana and I'm now in Houston waiting on a load. I was smart and took suggestions. I went and bought food to save money. I still eat at the truck stops but that's usually a snack type thing. I bought two cases of water and drink that instead of soda. My first check was $216 but that was for 1 run. The good thing is that because i live in california. Unemployment will cover the difference until i get to making more than 475 a week. So it's not to bad. LOTS and LOTS of miles so far per day for me. I've driven as much as 602 miles in 1 shift. Cya later.

Yea right now my truck is in the shop since the engine isn't putting out the power it's suppose to but as of right now there's no available loads in Fontana but if u guys r at the terminal anytime track us down our truck is 6186

Finally back from my 28 days. They went fast and slow at the same time. I learned TONS of new stuff so i'm very happy. Unemployment will pay me up to my minimum of 475 a week all i have to do is report what i earned each week to them. I had one week were i made more then 500 and one were i made about 200 so they will give me money for the 200 week. Bobby Savage was my trainer. He was hard on me at first, but by the end we got along great. I drove an average of 550 miles a day when we were on the longer runs. That was awesome. The money isnt great but i realize i have to start somewhere.

Unemployment might work for me LOL I'm running hard but not making the green they said u start making good money around 5 months
-
Yeah It's the way to go. I figure it'll take 6 months for me to make any real money at CRST. So This will help bring home the money that my family will need while I'm gone. Also buying as much food at home while i can so i don't have to rely on the truck stops for my meals. I'm still waiting on my co-driver to get home from his training so it looks like i'll be home for more than 6 days for sure.
-
Yea that's what I do or I eat at ta since a lot of them have the all u can eat menus
-
How have the miles been for you since you got off of training? Have you thought about doing the 20/10 program?
