    I checked with FECC a couple of days ago and was told there is a freeze on for new O/O's. They said to check back in 3 months. They also said they could put me in touch with some fleet owners that were looking for team drivers. From what I've read on here the team concept is better if the pay all goes to one acct. IE, husband/wife team. It may be something to look in to if I could talk the wife into getting a cdl-b.She thinks she wouldn't be able to do it. Maybe I can get her to read TEXASNANA's thread about driving school.

    Expedite company ads say they will let you train your inexperienced spouse . Ask the recruiter about that . Most runs aren't that long . Your wife wouldn't have to really drive that much .

    RickG is right.
    Now is not a time to get into this business. The freight is really slow at times and good at times. If you are not frugal, you will not make any money.

    I know a guy who bought a new 2003 Ford F350 dually. He pulled at the speed limit which was as much as 75. When empty he ran as much as 80-85. He always complained about not making any money. He also ran it hard and things broke.

    With the economy slow, it is hard to say. Classic and Quality were hiring the last I knew.
