This just kills me.
Chances are that horse had carried that cowboy home on more than one occasion.
I've know more than one horse owner who has attributed their safe return home or back to camp to their very capable horse. Maybe this was different since it was in more of an urban setting.

Good thing he got a ride home.
They would have given him a ticket walking the horse home for public intoxicatation.
-
My mule (Henry) has taken me home on many occasions when I couldn't find it.
They won't give you a ticket for that around here...they did follow me home from the bar one time though. They told my wife Henry even stopped at the redlights...I was out cold. -
With my luck I'd get a horse that drinks

panhandlepat Thanks this. -
You ride a mule to bars? Are you serious?
-
Yep...used to do it about every weekend (that was before I got married)
-
Baack...I remembered I have them on photobucket.
Here is my mule (designated driver)

Baack Thanks this. -
There was a guy in Payette Idaho that used to ride his horse to the bar due to having a couple dui,s in his car, then one night the local police ticketed him for riding while intoxicated, even tho his horse was going straight and no problem, guess it was another way for that city to get more money, what a joke.

Technically, I can understand it.
You are in control of the animal. What if in your intoxicated state, you rode the horse out in front of a vehicle and they swerve to avoid the rider and horse and wreck or kill someone?
