simplyred1962 Betty Boop, One Bodacious Babe!!!
Sad commentary of children in todays society, huh?
luvmyhubby Thanks this. -
Myself...I don't have a good opinion of public schools. Too many teachers trying to teach kids what they think is right, or trying to stick their nose in whats going on at home. Not to mention the fact that most schools VERY closely resemble prisons these days...no wonder so many kids end up in prison, by the time they graduate they are well accustomed to the lifestyle.
If the parents can afford to get him schooled, the kid will probably turn out better in the long run. -
WOW a third grader, thats unreal,, i wonder if he actualy meant to do something like that, or if he would have waited till later in life to go thru with it?
-
I am amazed at the lack of compassion in children these days, not to mention no respect for elders or authority figures....its just so wrong. It's like a bunch of zombies running around concerned with only themselves, no selfcontrol, no reasoning in the thought process........gosh and to think this is the generation that will take care of us when we are older!

Consider the role models. After all, their lives are inside computer games and fictional tv shows. -
I have to lean on the side of the child. The role models you speak of, may have been the teacher.
I went through this same thing (almost) when my son hit the public school system. I've found that the "meek" all have a hitlist that includes the school bully(s). But few are dumb enough to put it on paper.
It cost me a days work and $$$ for the lawyer, to jack the school boards ### up between their shoulder. And explain that a teacher who instigates a discussion in class, should be prepared for an answer.
While the answer may have been inappropriate, the question most certainly was.
We transfered my son with no further incidents, after the board ruled in our favor. That didn't stop him from earning the nickname "Hitlist" for the next 3 years. -
This was a private church school.

Yeh, but you have to wonder what it said at the top of the list.
A. Nothing
B. People I want to Kill
C. People I want to invite to my birthday party.
Without that information. I still lean to the child.
Children have really weak imaginations, when you throw paranoid adult in for comparison.
Sadly, the same system that kicked him to the curb. Will "advise" his parents to send him for counseling. With a counseler that thinks it's a good idea to write your frustrations out.
The brownie points are bigger...for the second list being reported. -
I wasn't taking sides, I was just correcting the poster who wanted to blame public schools for all the world's problems.
