They won't let you take more than a week off after orientation. Also, you need to understand that you will make a gamble regardless. You could make it through orientation and then fail out of the OTR training w/ your trainer for any number of reasons. Then after you finish 5 weeks of OTR training you get your own truck and hit something day one...well, you could be out of a job w/ TMC day one depending on the situation. So, again...it will be gambling regardless of when you put your notice in.
1000% FALSE! While you MAY never see the actual brokered load...even w/ the % of what you CAN see, you will 99.9% ALWAYS make more via % than you will CPM. Here is my current break-out between % vs CPM (based on my loads I've run since 2/25/29: (So the difference in pay between me making 26% (starting %) vs my actual % (33%) is over 5k more. If I were to JUST compare starting % vs starting CPM, the same driver would be trailing behind me roughly 7k for the loads. 26% vs 33% $5,323.39 26% vs 40cpm $7,441.21
