I can tell you a little about the 7/7, I was on it about 1.5 years. Not alot of money, but good hometime. I had another income so this was great for me. You will be going out on a wed or sat morning, you will be slip-seating, and you have to park in a terminal or certain drop yards.
Miles are up and down each week. This year, mostly down. I think you can go into any fleet you like after you finish Evo3.
I hope this helps some. Good luck on your choice..Fooman Thanks this. -
Does any one know if Roehl did away with their Honor Program? The website for it has been taken down and there is no mention of it on their new site. Did they stop the apprenticeship program?
-
They aren't recruiting any new drivers for it.

They did away with that sometime in March I believe. My husband went for orientation a week after they stopped doing the program, so he missed it by only a few days. He also missed the sign on bonus by a few days, they stopped doing those as well, which wasn't a big deal to me as I didn't even know they were advertising one lol.
So they finally updated their site then? Last I saw they still had the Honor Program area, but it's been about a week since I last poked around I think. -
Roel runs a hometime fleet out of Newport. Keep in mind the hometime fleet requires you to share trucks with others which can be good or bad. I left the hometime fleet after about 8 months due to poor mileage 1100-1500 per week then home for 4 days off with no income. When freight was good I probably averaged 2200-2400 per 7 days. Hometime drivers need a good launch load to ensure they get a good week. If they spend their first few days in the region of there yard they will not get out of that area because the truck needs to be back at the yard on the sixth day so the next driver can launch. It did made the transition to trucking from factory (home every night) a little easier. Freight seems to be picking up so those mileage numbers may go up. Good luck with whatever you decide and be sure to have the spouse on board as this is a real lifestyle change.

I used to run out of Newport and never had to wait for a load there. Every time I'm in Marshfield or Gary I'm stuck for at least a day. They might still be short of Twin Cities drivers for all I know.

The "pod" I'm in out of Gateway (stl) is a driver short right now. I'm on the 7/4-7/3. As far as I know new drivers can get on the hometime fleet after training. Miles have really been down for at least the last three months, hopefully they'll pickup soon. I did hear that the Florida hometime fleet was reduced to about seven total drivers, but that was in part due to the fact there were too many openings. It sounded like they were consolidating the fleet. The other problem was that they were having to deadhead the drivers almost four hundred miles to get them home.

I'd just like to say I likely won't be visiting this forum very much any more, but if anyone has any questions feel free to send me a PM. It should still send me the e-mail. Sunday will be my last day as a truck driver, if I can bring myself to sign the resignation papers. Best of luck to all of you, and I will miss it.

Well I was hoping so as they are going to have a recruiter at a school near me next week sometime. The school's website said they would take your app and then let you know if they want you. If you got that call, then you'd go through this schools program, then report to Roehl.
BUT, she can't seem to get over the idea of me not coming home every night yet. I don't see much of a difference of when I was a cop, as I was gone at night and she was gone during the day, but whatever.
I don't think I'll ever understand how women think!
