That wasn't an attack. It was an observation.

Many of us spend a great deal of time on this site, and we try our level best to offer responsible insight and solid advise, sometimes even when it is not asked for. We do this because we genuinely care about people, and we don't like to see good people walk into bad situations. Most of us have been there.

Does that make any sense to you?

I am simply speaking for myself, but I do get tired of seeing people defend something that the represent initially to have no personal insight into. Why people do this, I do not know.

I don't know why you appear to want to reject some sound comments, that SHOULD make you sit up and take notice of the pitfalls that are just waiting out there for you, if you want to walk right into them. But, if that's what you want to do, by all means....help yourself.

Do you know why that may be the case? Because this site does not take advertising dollars from trucking companies. We CAN remain impartial. We don't fear discussion that may encompass the bad in regard to a company. No one is going to say..."Hey...we pay you for advertisement, and you're allowing people to put our company down. Pull those posts, or we pull our ads."

Yeah, and you explained how three of those drivers came into the picture. They "dropped" by the school. Don't you find that a little convenient? I sure do.

I have driven for many years, and I have never been inclined at any time, under any circumstance, to drop by any training facility for the purpose of talking to students and to offer some personal insight to anyone who asks about my company. I had freight to haul.

Are you that obtuse? I mean really....wake up and smell the coffee. Those drivers were sent on a PR mission, to RECRUIT you. They are probably PAID to take the time to drop by that school for that exact purpose.

I LOVE the company I work for, but I don't have the time to stop by places to see if I can drum up some drivers for the company, if they need some, and I can get a $2,000 bonus for finding a qualified driver at a time when a position is open.

Tell me....did any of these guys give you their names and truck numbers? Did they have business cards that they handed you?

Then why debate it? Sign on the dotted line and go for it. You're convinced that you have a grip on the situation, so please....wait just a minute...

You can't find but one negative post, but have found "hundreds of posts" that say only positive things? Uh...huh. Right.

I'll reserve comment and sit back and watch this thing progress a little more.

    Anyone see what I see?

"On the way home as I went by the interstate, at the fuel stop was a May driver. May paid him to sit there with his hood up because they know I get my groceries every Saturday at this time and would be coming by."

NOW I know what that meant.

    I think it's time to go PLANT a tree.:pottytrain5:

KC0rey...look at the IP Address. This guy is posting from Utah....West Valley in fact.

    Then visit this page:

Layton, Utah is a mere half hour away. Geez....

Well KC let Dipstick consider himself warned and when he comes to the realization that he had blinders on and is defending a company he only knows from the paid representatives that were sent there he will be singing a different tune. Of course he has to graduated from the school first!

    1. They dropped off a driver next door to pick up his truck from Cummins. 2.How many May drivers have you personally talked to this month?3. No bussines cards, they where former students talking to former teacher, pretty common if you are a good teacher, and He is. They didn't offer insight, I asked. They were talking to the instructor. 4. Boise State University is in Idaho, your not as clever as you think.

Hey Turbo, some just don't want to be told they may be not looking at the whole picture. Like you said, he is convinced he found his dream job. Lots of luck to him. I find the information here very useful and Dipstick let me tell you something, people like Turbo and KC and many others here are very knowledgeable and are only here to try to help newbies and others avoid the many pitfalls of trucking and to avoid certain companies that will only discourage newbies and break many a driver. But hey you seem to have all the answers......personally I would take reps that visit schools and recuiters at truck stops with a grain of salt. Do you really think they are going to tell you the down side of that company? Plus recuiters many times have never sat behind the wheel and therefore do not hold the knowledge of how that company treats drivers. Seeing you are dead set in thinking you are right all I can say to you is God speed! Plus it wouldn't be a first time that a plant from a company being complained against came in here posing as a student or a "happy" driver for that company. Either way.....it's your sole opinion on this company. I don't see any other person rallying behind you on your position.

    Sure they did.

Try not to stray too far from the subject at hand. You're already miles behind already. You hung yourself with the little details you forgot to keep straight. When you offered that Crete Carriers was on your short list, It took a little while for me to realize that something was wrong. Crete doesn't hire through BSU. They only hire newbies under certain conditions and they only accept training through one institution, located in Nebraska.

But, to answer your question, I haven't talked to one May Trucking driver in all of my years with the industry. What's your point? I'm not the one being deceptive about the subject, and with some ulterior motive in mind.

Uh huh. You don't get it, do you?

Save it. I'm well aware of what BSU stands for, and I know exactly where it is. But you're not posting from Boise, Idaho or anywhere else in Idaho. You're also not anything else you have claimed to be either. Or didn't you know that you were busted yet? I traced your ISP. You're posting from West Valley, Utah, and this has been the case with the submission of every one of your posts.

May Trucking, a company you claim to be considering for employment, wouldn't have any idea when you go and buy your groceries, or care for that matter, unless you were already an employee. So...what's the deal? Are you one of their mechanics?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the commute from West Valley, Utah on a GOOD day, to Boise would be 345 miles. The commute you actually make is to Layton, Utah...and only about 31 miles, isn't it? Why do people try this backhanded approach to salvage an otherwise questionable reputation, to tarnish it with deception?

If you were attempting to make them look a little better, you sure have failed miserably. But nice try.

You might update your information, as I said you are not as clever as you think, Where AT& T routes there server to I have'nt a clue. The closest terminal to me is Payette, that's why I considered May in the first place..... What a great way to discredit factual information, just say I am coming from somewhere I am not. I call B.S. You might call Miranda Watson at Crete and check on where they are hiring from. F.Y.I Sage is on Crete's approved list also. If you have not noticed there is a shortage of available drivers in the U.S., perhaps Crete has loosened its criteria.

Since your attachment manager won't allow JPEG files it sure makes it hard to disprove your misinformation about my location, like how convenient for you is that.

For all you posters who can't read. I am not going to May, they are my third choice. I am going to CRETE , and then my second choice is GORDON.

Well I DO have a clue, and there's no need for me to repeat the charge. You're wiggling like an earthworm on a fishhook and...yes, it's Sunday to boot.

Please let me know when you have actually offered any facts, so that we may discuss them.

I did check into this, and guess what? You're correct. Crete does accept students who have gone through other CDL training programs that they approve, but that doesn't change a thing. Why? Because you Sir, have not offered that you were attending a Sage School. You wrote, and I quote:

"I am going to School at BSU's Truck school"....

Do you see the new problem here with your latest dance step? It doesn't change anything in regard to whether or not you are telling the truth, because BSU is not a Sage affiliated location. Crete does not hire from BSU. The nearest Sage School in Caldwell, Idaho is some 29 miles from Boise, and the hole in your claim is still as wide as it was.

The perceived driver shortage is a completely different issue, for another completely different discussion. Try to focus on the issue at hand, if you please.

What? Were you intending on posting a picture of the Boise State Campus or something? In the year 2006, a digital picture proves nothing. If you would like, I'll take a few moments and use one of the half dozen graphics editors on my computer, and post a picture of a 6 foot tall man, riding on the back of a Chihuahua.

Wow...after all of this, you drop that bomb? Yesterday, you couldn't wait to become a May Trucking Company driver.

Look...I don't know what exactly your game is, but I think that there is sufficient evidence in this thread that you're not exactly on top of it, and you haven't read the playbook rules.

I'll give you this much...you MAY (no pun intended) have some desires to enter the trucking industry as a driver, but short of that, you're not representing anything else on any level of truth.

You're probably not attending any School at the moment, and you're wasting bandwidth on this site in offering any information that serious minded people need to make serious minded decisions in regard to their decisions in their paths to a career in trucking.

I sure hope that you never have any aspirations to enter the field of law, because your defense of May Trucking, has to be about the most botched case I have ever had the displeasure to read.

"Your Honor, I move that the testimony of this witness be stricken from the record."

P.S. - What about the grocery buying habits that you claimed that May Trucking knew about, and that you'd be right where that broke down May Trucking truck was going to be? I was really wondering how you were going to explain that one away...

Oh well....I guess it will have to nag me for the rest of my life....not.

He's going to need lot's of luck. 'nuff said.

And if there is one thing that people SHOULD understand when reading this thread, it is exactly that. When digesting any testimony, always try to discern what motivation the person in front of you may have, in telling the truth, or in offering the complete opposite of the truth.

I always feel more comfortable, when someone DOES offer the pro's and the con's of something. I think most other people feel the same way.

May Trucking may be an okay place to land or they may be completely the opposite as the original poster suggests. I don't have enough evidence one way or the other to weigh any opinion on, at the moment.

I only stated Sage was ALSO on their list of approved schools. If you check with Crete you will find they accept Idaho Center for Proffessional Truck Driving which is at BSU's Caldwell location. Google for Larry G. Selland Collage for the home page. The truck yard is on S. Raymond & Targee in Boise at TCI's yard which BSU rents a portion of.
