Interesting use of the first person....”I’m glad you’re here”....all this time, Six is the Moose!

.....or Six has gone mad, looking in the mirror of self reflection talking to himself.

    Either way it ain’t good

John the Revelator was accused of being mad as well, that would place Six in good company.

Loaded up in Texas and hoping to find cooler weather in Quebec. Probably won't pass the @kylefitzy inspection since the webbing on the tarps isn't lined up but I don't think it's too shabby for an old guy. And I at least found 4 matching tarps although out of 2 sets of 3 piece tarps 5 were center pieces and only 1 had a flap 20190701_184621.jpg

You are correct, many think the name Detroit Diesel is connected to Penske only.

Actually the Detroit Diesel name was on engines in the 70’s..... Penske took over in 88 from what I’m finding.

And the name Detroit Diesel was used in the 60’s on their manuals. Look at the Copy right dates.

How come some days you can surprise yourself doing a big job in half the time you thought it would take, and other days the simplest things fight you to no end?

Needed a new grease zirk on my steering gearbox. So I proceeded to take a 2 minute job and turn it into 3 hours. It would just spin (press fit), so being the seasoned mechanic that I am, I took my best vice grips and expertly busted it off flush. Ahh well, I’ll just drill it out. Nope, it just spins with the bit.

Things went kinda blurry at that point, but after a slide hammer incident, several thrown wrenches, a couple of bent self-tapping screws, busted knuckles, a five-gallon bucket, big pry bar, bigger hammer, some colorful cuss words, a bigger drill bit, some never-before seen dance moves, some grease and a tap, I can once again grease my gearbox.
