Anyone have any idea of any one in Texas that can lengthen a frame? I have a 265" WB W900B I want stretched 48". Also thinking about swapping out my 60" flat top for a 36" flat top sleeper. Then from there I want to add a custom hood to use the 70's style headlights and add on some fiberglass rear fenders. Might even go to low profiles and drop her down a bit more. Just not sure what all they do to make them low riders. Figure it can't hurt with flat bedding and it sure would be pretty. Then again may leave the W900 alone and do all of that to an old 359 Pete if I can find one cheap.

Anyone know of a shop in or close to Okc, Ok that could do this?? I dont want mine lengthened, frame broke between drive axels on my 359 and I want to just have new frame rails put under it rather than trying to patch the spot. Want the same wheelbase, just double walled for strength.

if im not mistaken i could have sworn that i seen a company who makes new rails for trucks that come pre drilled and any length that you want. ill look into it a little more and let you know.

try acw specialties in el paso they do some nice work he has a web site as well check him out

k bro i found a company that can bend up some rails for you in any length upto 36' or 432 inches total length, double walled or single walled www.pgadams.com check them out

For what it is worth, instead of 48" maybe go 51" or 52" what ever your present axle spacing is,it will require less work. What you are doing is putting the front axle where the rear axle is and adding frame from the center of your axle spacing back.If you can find a pair of frame rails the same size as you have now and drilled for the same susp. who ever does the work will hardly have drill or fill any holes. This makes a nice finished job.

Can anyone tell me a good wheel base for a 379 with a 63 stand up on it? I was thinking of putting it out to 305" to 310" but some say to stay at 305" or shorter for best ride.

I would like to have mine at around 290, just go to the truckpaper web site and look at the trucks on there for sale. There is about every wheelbase you can think of for sale on there to look at, thats what I did the other night when I was bored

Here is mine. 63 inch stand up no fairings 310 wheelbase. Rides like a caddy. I would not even heitate to go out to a 310. The longer the frame the smoother the ride.

Thanks. Yeah it is a fixed 11 foot spread with dumps and lifts on each axle.
