Almost all minority community centers offer help to their own kind when it comes to navigating the local government assistance office to circumventing laws to get said government assistance. On top of that they help you connect with business owners looking to exploit cheap labor from thier countrymen.

Do churches help Christians? No they don't.
    Same thing with temples.
But churches spend lot of money to convert non christians to christians.
Should help homeless christians canadians on street.

    BigHossVolvo Thanks this.

I'm Sikh and I gotta say the temple paying for class 1 makes no sense. My dad is fairly religious, I hear most of the babble about our community but never heard that before. Temples are a good way to find jobs wether it be trucking or any other industry.

Temples have no interest in getting these students their class 1 license. Most Sikh temples are setup as businesses just like any other place of worship, paying for class 1s with nothing in return is pointless. They may meet people within the temple that can help them but not the temple management themselves.

The students themselves do know a decent amount of English, just to apply to college in Canada they need to write their ielt test which is basically an English test. Their English may not be perfect but they do know it.

In terms of cheap labor it's true, they don't mind working for 15-20$ an hour. Cash seems to be the way these guys like to do business, no paper trails. Many predominantly Indian companies pay Canadians and students at different rates. It's hard for me for example to work with these guys because they can't take advantage of me since I'm Canadian born.

It would seem more logical to me for the temples to act as a place to connect students with business owners, who are probably the ones paying for the licence, then they work off the cost.

    BigHossVolvo and Canadianhauler21 Thank this.
