thanks for the info..when they require their drivers to be within 35
miles of the terminal, and he said something about I would be getting
my 34 hrs off, and not being able to promise which day of the wk it
would be.....uhhhmm.... i began to think. "They're gonna slap me in
a truck, each and every time I have fresh hours, and run the hell outa me"
He also said, I would go to every store, no dedicated handful of stores for
each driver, as I had been expecting. Supposed to be a local get home every
day job, but...am thinking its really not, except when you are out of hours.

Beware of this company!!! They promise you the world and take everything from you.

I can only speak from my own experience with USXpres, but, I can say that they are a ruthless company that will probably screw you like they have many many drivers like myself. And remember, if you do something to cause you to quit or be fired you will have to find your own way home from Tunnel Hill, Ga. at your own expense. I personally did nothing wrong but live in Florida. They decided they didn't need me as a "solo" driver and tried to force me to team drive or lease a truck from them. Their word is no good and you should place this outfit at the very top of your list of "SCUM BAG COMPANIES". Go ANYWHERE but here.

If any of you want to work in this industry you have found the right spot to hear from fellow drivers that care. USX is not the Company to work at. Every post here about this Company is true. They will stick it to you. So... STAY AWAY FROM USX. If you work for them quit. Put the word out they are the worst and we might have drivers walking off the job. If you see a USX truck voice your disgust at the operator as to why he is wotking there. Enough of us can get these men to walk off, leave this Company driver-less.
If you read this and still enter into employment with them , then it will be your fault.
Stay safe out there, operate like the professionals you are, help your fellow driver when you can.

I do not agree with voiceing disgust at the operator driving down the road. There is enough crap on the cbs that is tacky and rude.
I am sure the drivers going down the road are not doing it because they want to but probably have to due to bills , family ect.
My husband is working there and hates it and I hate it but he is the one that has the medical benefits so until he gets another job he is putting up with them.
The job market is so bad right now and has been for along time , my husband has a Bachelor degree in Enviromental Management & Transportation Safety and had to retrain in a industry that was hiring so now he is a trucker.
My husband talks to alot of other US X drivers while at shippers -receivers and truck stops and they all hate it and are just about to walk but having a family to support they have to suck it up until they can find a company hiring that is better and not just a latteral move to another sucky trucking company.Teaforone Thanks this. -
all the big companies are like this.

. Supposed to be a local get home every

You do not need a sleeper on your truck if you are home every day.
Like most dedicated accounts you will probably be out 5 to 6 days a week and home 1 or 2 days. And if you are delivering to the stores those are in malls in most cases so hope you are delivering early or late at night. -
Look at any USX terminal and you will see plenty of day cabs for local runs. If they gave you a sleeper and call it "local" I'm afraid you are in for another of their lies and deception.

yes, the appts are for 10 pm and 4 am. Thats not the problem, what I'm wondering, should I go to them, when my old job, (which I love) is talking layoffs, but, hasnt gotten to me, yet, (but I'm next). They tell me I'm in... all I have to do is go to orientation, and I'm on that account. I believe that drivers aren't hired until AFTER they get thru
orientation, and there are some sort of physical capabilities test, anyone tell me, what the tests involve? -
and..in yr opinions? should I leave a company that MIGHT be able to muddle thru
this slow time , and be there for months or years in the future? or..should I jump ship?
usx is gonna pay me, just a LITTLE bit more than what unemployment does.
I'm down to one day to decide.!
