Man, ( or woman), if you can't find freight to haul in Atlanta, something wrong. I think Atlanta is one of the busiest places for trucking. I knew a guy did rail cans from Savannah ( I think)to Atlanta, he did alright and was home often. If I did that today, I'd get my own chassis tho,,

  5. most of those contractors that are least to JB Hunt not the ones that look like JB Hunt trucks but the ones that look like a bunch of fools at act that way are those kind of power only just look at contracted to JB Hunt right one of the numbers down..
trailer Transit used to be pretty good they kind of still are but they're not what they used to be.
power Express is another one that isn't too bad.
but if you really want to and your don't have a screwed-up driving record or anything like that what I tell people is take a shot at Atlas Van lines power only division..
many guys seem to be pretty satisfied there you're not mowing the house is in bed bugging but you're basically just moving trailers all throughout the applus system..so you may be offered say a trailer from an agent and if you were to start in Los Angeles going to a Dallas Texas area..then they may say we've got a trailer here paying really good going up in the New Jersey to an atlas agent and then back and forth and all that fun stuff..
but Atlas does not take fools like jbhunt does on their contractor division

I certainly recommend getting your own trailer. You can get a nice new dry van from Wabash, Great Dane, etc for around $33k, thats only about $730 month over 5 years. Insurance will be about $2k a year. You can cover that trailer payment and insurance payment in less than two days, one day on a good run. Its a no brainer.

Yes, especially if you do OD or have a quad axle. Try Kenneth Clark Co out of Maryland

Ryder has a program for dry van and flat rentals or leases from other owner ops. Google coop dot com. I was just up there and saw a 2020 dry van for $175 per week. You can rent weekly or monthly. One thing I noticed though is they are only in two markets so far atlanta and a part of florida (i forget the city).

You can try grocery chain dist centers. If they r havin trouble finding drivers, they will trip lease and pull their loaded trailers to their grocery stores. Id call them directly.
