Every time your load is late, you’re costing the company $, whether it’s in lost loads, receiver fines, etc. They put up with the company being late enough they start looking for a more reliable carrier.

I’ve worked in cr england about 2 years ago. I’ve had mostly drop yard pick ups. Drop yard to drop yard drop and hook. I loved those don’t stress about it.

So, yer empty going to drop lot. Chances are there is either another empty (For technical reasons) or a load to get.

I love drop lots. That tells me it's drop hook and out with papers. (Usually on the Billbox in trailer.)

My last work the Shipper McKesson had their own Drop Lot. drop, hook and go once qualcomm is tied to trailer in trace.

    Now what's left" Trip planning.

If your trip is say Little Rock to Knoxville TN, it's 530 miles. Here I am in Little Rock getting breakfast, I have 30 minutes before the wheels must move. Once moving I got 9 hours to be in Knoxville. 6 AM to 3PM ETA. It will get there barring problems on I-40 which is not expected today.

A check of Arkansas DOT Idrive website and a check of Penn DOT webpage shows I40 in reasonably early traffic for morning rush. Since you are two hours before Memphis that rush should resolve before you pass through.

The truck will be there in Knoxville this afternoon. There would be no excuse for being late unless the interstate was absolutely closed due to a fatal. At that moment of knowing when sitting still on 40 you call dispatch and say hey, no one is moving here need new ETA. As long they know what's going on when you are not moving through no fault of your own there should be no problem.

Ive talked enough. Trucking means on time. Some of that freight is going to be used today the minute it arrives, it will not be late.

13 years ago when I was a brand new driver I was late a few times.
I guess I’m not cut out for it either.
I guess I’ll try and get a job at the McDonalds.

Well, the worst company out here is probably always on the hunt to toss somebody so they get another sap to drive for peanuts while he/she pays off their “CDL school” loans.
