I never acted like I was holier than thou. I readily admitted that when new I made mistakes. But they did not involve shippers and receivers. I always made sure the ones paying the bills got taken care of. And quite frankly, I really don't give a #### what pisses you off. You can piss off as far as I'm concerned.

I can tell you never had a customer service job, especially based in a service based industry. I got a job at a fledgling company servicing restroom trailers and port o lets in south LA. I was hired to try to organize the company that was the biggest CF I'd ever seen. I was handed a company that had no organization no service to speak of and drivers who were all over the place in their routes. I'm the one who organized it into a well oiled machine. We had a "missed service" of over 80% when I started. The day I left the owner said we were down to under 1% missed services. Even the owner said I've never seen this company run like this. Our income has almost doubled in 15 months. We became a multi-million dollar company while I was there.

Am I tooting my own horn? No. I'm saying I know how a service based industry works. And I would take NO excuses from drivers. Didn't service a unit? Why not? Stop what you're doing and take care of the customer, period. No excuses. Got excuses? Bring the truck back to the yard and leave. We got rid of bad drivers and got excellent ones. Gave them regular raises and reduced turnover from 60% to less than 10% by the time I left.

My job was sales, customer service, dispatching, billing and order input. I did EVERYTHING except accounting. I left because the company was doing really well and the owner was buying new houses, cars, etc and wasn't giving me pay raises commensurate to all the work I was doing.

If you haven't been there done that, your input really isn't worth a grain of salt. I have been. I enjoy it. But I take no excuses. We didn't sell ourselves on being cheap, we sold ourselves on being #### GOOD AT WHAT WE DID. And we settled for nothing less.

But that being said, who knows why the guy got dispatched a drop yard. Did he ever come back and update us?

You would do well to lose the hostility if you wish to continue to be a member here. Disagree all you like, but I suggest you learn to do it with civility.

It's too bad this thread has degenerated into insults and personal bickering.
Once again, thanks to the members who offered useful advice. It's a shame that a few childish people would rather bicker than contribute.

    The thread is closed.

OP...when you get to the drop yard and find out what's going on please start a new thread and let us know what happened. Thanks
