I agree with an earlier poster, a parked FL is the best riding FL. Whoever told you Volvo's were POS's is either making up for his incredibly small wiener and needs a big hood, or a plain ol' idiot.

As far as I can tell, theres nothing wrong with a freightliner. I have drove many freightliners ranging from 30 year old cabovers to brand new autoshift conventionals and the majority of them have been great trucks. But I will say that I am picking peices of the dash up off the floor every day in this old century.. Why they went from the screw-in panels of the old dash to the peice of crap they use in the century is beyond me. I've not been impressed with the volvo I drove. It rode like any other truck and it had the infamous electrical trouble. It also felt more like I was diving a bus than a truck. At this point so far, I'd rather drive a freightliner.

Having owned 5 differnt makes of trucks,I will say Volvo is the best riding of all.Kenworth was the best made,Pete a close second.None compared to the Volvo ride.
Currently drive a 2000 Classic, with just over 1,000,000 miles. Not a freightliner fan but its a great truck. The boss has two of them.He recently bought an old `95 WIA series Volvo and got upset when he found out that both of us with Classics offered to drive the Volvo.Wouldn`t let us have it. -
Cascadias may seem to run well because they're all brand new yet.

What makes my FL Classic the best is its paid for.

smooth riding freightliner? On the back of a heavy duty tow.

If everything is tracking straight and aligned like it is supposed to be, most will ride okay. If the suspension is shot, it won't ride good.
Tall rubber makes most trucks handle rough pavement more smoothly, longer wheelbases with set ahead axles should ride more smoothly.
I drive an older Volvo occasionally, the ride and handling aren't that good. -
If you are going to drive a Frieghtliner I would suggest a Classic XL. The ride is good and the 2 I have driven were a good truck.
The Cascadia is nothing more than a plastic incrusted, pos, death trap. I drive one everyday. Sure drives like a car, just get it out in some wind and snow and if your not careful get a first hand look at the ditch! The truck is a real wonder, I wonder what the hell they were thinking when they made it!!!
