I just thought I would give u guys an update on S.N. as of today. I called up the Pittsburgh recruiting office and they told me they ARE hiring tanker drivers still with a few dry van positions as well with a minimum of 6 months total driver experience and 3 months verifiable OTR Exp.
Also since I'm still new and I don't even have that (didn't go to trucking school) i asked the recruiter what my other options were. Well he told me that with in the next few months they WILL be re- opening some of the training centers. They already opened one back up in texas last week.
And one more thing since i already have my CDL even with no actual expierence he said i would be put in the EXP-1 class which is 7 days in class and 7 days with a trainer. and yes this does not make scense to me either but I am just going off what the recruiter told me. I just thought this might be a little good news for some of the guys who are ready to give up.:smt067

I just called Schneider (1800-44-pride), they arent hiring newbies here, yet. As soon as the Carlisle school opens up and are hiring newbies, Im definitely calling them. I got my CDL thinking I was getting on board with them, but they stopped hiring. Hopefully, it opens up soon.

i hope so to cuz i got my cdl thru the DMV and not a school so its been tough to find anything especially since im in florida but due to some close friends i can move up to PA up by pittsburgh so scheinder may be my only hope for going over the road till i get my year or two since i wanna go fuel tanker or heavy haul someday

Schneider called me a few months ago for a tanker job. The told me that if I didn't shave off my moustache they couldn't hire me. It's not a large one. It would be a regulation size for a fire department. Schneider said, nope. Since my last posting I have got my class A cdl with tanker cert, still have to get hazmat.

got a call from Schnider today. the lady said that they were hiring for OTR and that i would would be running east and canada. Does anyone know what the average miles a week are currently. Just wondering if it is worth going back on the road if the miles are low. any info would be greatly appreciated. also has anyone been to orintation in Edwardsville IL. That was one of the choices I could go to. I do not have have my Hazmat yet or TWIC card. Will Schnider reimburse for those and do i really need the twic card. Thanks
