I’m very fortunate, they let me do whatever I want to mine. I ordered my truck and everything for it. They’ve said nothing about any of it.

While all of that is true their is one main thing in our favor. All of our freight is Texas and Oklahoma east and north. I live in Missouri so I have no real reason to go to Washington. My truck will likely never see the main office.Al. Roper, cke, BigCam9670 and 11 others Thank this.

Did the wires come out with your mirror harness? I thought about running them there but didn’t like how it looked.Al. Roper, cke, PoleCrusher and 8 others Thank this.

I’d like more storage, mostly. Everything else is nit-picking to me, personally.
I think for the time some of us spend out here, away from home, we should get a truck that we enjoy driving... so you are very lucky JD.
The only T800 I’ve seen in Arlington is JD. I’ve ran into a few of you guys at the TA in Richmond Hill before... which is where SC and I recognized each other from... but I figured you guys run east of I35 religiously.... and I’ve been to wichita twice. I’m in Arlington or Charleston on a monthly basis though

When I first started here almost 8 years ago it was pretty much that way. Of course as the company has grown so has the diversity, skill and preferences of drivers. As such they've had to begin addressing things like what can and cannot be done to the trucks and I can say I don't blame them. Trucks are an asset that needs to retain as much value as possible when it's first life with the company ends. Having all the dime store crap stuck all over them might look good to the driver doing it but may hurt the value for the secondary market.
As @stwik and @kylefitzy said, we work for the same company however we're on a completely separate board and have a local boss that we answer to. He was an owner op here before he moved into the office, he wants the trucks to look the part and that includes issuing ### chewings for not keeping the aluminum polished. -
Whatever additional cost incurred will be offset tenfold if you are happy and stay.
I'm not blowing smoke up your butt either. This is the opinion of a small business owner that realizes the value of excellent employees. It is a very astute and calculated business decision.
