I've never been Pro Union, but when people make a blank anti union statement you immediately know they have no understanding of history or unions. This is why we need both. Between the steel workers and miners they were murdering people for profit. Now I don't agree with what unions have become, but lets face it. Large corporations still ain't your best friend either. It irks me in trucking all independent owner ops against megas who have the means to have government write regulation, but will not be part of a group or union to fight for their rights. But will ##### about it all day long. Don't know what the answer is.

This is a gal I used 20 years ago or so,on a regular gig running from Roseburg Oregon to North Carolina. 14+' wide sawmill equipment, didn't need an escort till I got to Nebraska, she was from Eastern Colorado. Would meet her at Pine Bluffs each trip. Just a great person,a lot of fun to be with, kept a bottle of Crown Royal in her trunk, only to be used in case of serious problems. Her old Chevy had the wig wag headlites, and on two lanes people would really get out of the way when they see that coming, they'd think it was the Police.
Really knew her job well, was from a family of pilot cars business.Plus she was Miss Colorado Body Builder, and she could drive a mean golf ball, lol.

I'll try and help out here,at least with my experience. There is a cathouse in Wells, that advertises on the CB as for free coffe, showers, etc, etc.,and has been doing it for as long as I can remember, just to get you in the door. Then it's up to you what happens next, lol. In the old days at Wells,it was the 4 Way truckstop,at the junction of US40+93,nice TS and nice bar. The Fearliss Ferris Stinker Stop Truckstop (real name, anyone remember these?) across the street for cheaper fuel.
When I first started trucking across Nevada, and other western states in the 70's,lots of the interstate highways were still not built. Going west into Nevada out of Utah, the interstate stopped at Wendover. And Utah didn't have a whole lot done either, but from Tooele to Wendover it was.
Anyway it was US40 across Nevada and you went through downtown EVERY town, big or small. Elko,Battle Mountain,Winnemucca,Lovelock, etc. all the way to Reno. Little bits of I-80 were built between the towns. Used to enjoy it actually, some nice cafes, little casinos. I think it was Nevada's way off trying to squeeze every last tourist dollar from truckers and travelers, because once they built the Interstates around those towns, the café,bar, whorehouse, and evey other tourist business's would struggle. Just a different more relaxed time. -
It was raining that day, and we didn't want to get the trucks wet, so we kept them inside. That way, we didn't have to clean them later.

Very nice pic. My two sons and I on the right with our 720 Diesel, from about 25 years ago. Let that tractor get away, wish I had it back. My oldest son in that pic,he's 39 now, still pulls his poked and stroked Super M Farmall. He went to South Jersey last week at a pull at Cowtown, got first in 5500,6500,7500. Surprised even me!
