I spoke with a Schneider driver today (female solo). She said she had been getting pretty good miles.

And the way things are going.

5 months from now, Schneider may be just what you're looking for. Personally, I wouldn't walk on a job if I couldn't take a 2-6 month sustained hit in the wallet.

I know that's asking a lot from some people. But things will come back around full circle. And the power will shift back to the drivers.

What are they going to do with their OTR drivers? What about teams?

My wife and I were with SNI for 14 months- we pulled out early. No you will owe only as much as your pay stub says is left. They will NOT reverse what they put in. In fact we owed them 700 some odd dollars a peice. We had not taken our vacation, so we had them deduct from that, and we ended up owing 250 for both of us.

We had no trouble separating from the company- seriously. I gave them a months notice (never burn bridges). My DBL was cool about it we didn't and worse miles than we were. (thats why we were leaving anyway more pay elsewhere). She asked where we were going, said she hadnt heard anything bad about them and said good luck.

If you have been a good driver no service failures, logs been ok, good repore with your DBL talk it over with them. Just make sure you give lots of notice, and be upfront with them. Going home for a home time and then saying "by the way I quit" is the best way to have any company mess you over.

Thanks so much for the clarification. My paystub says remaining tuition $1,075.00, if they reversed their contribution I'd owe $3,800.00 this is what I feared, but you clarified.

If I need to leave in the next few months I won't get clobbered, just wanted to know my options. I'd like to become a phys ed teacher.

I've got a good relationship with my DBL and office people, and would like to leave on good terms when the time is right. They've been fair.

the problem, is that wage freezes are just like fuel prices...... when the price of oil rises, the gas stations raise there prices immediately. but, when oil drops, it takes them 2 months to get the prices where they should be. with wage freeze's it is the same way. the company tells you that times are tough we need to freeze wages. but, when the economy picks back up, it takes you half a century to get back to where you were before the wages were frozen. i went through that very thing after 9/11. they froze our wages and we were just getting back in tune before the latest economic meltdown. now, we are looking at a 2.5% decrease, and paying more for our medical, and getting the same on our pension.... now it is not effecting me since i am going through re-education in a new field, but that is how wage freeze's work.. you never get that money back ever.

if you can "gut it out" until that balance is zero, that is probably the best way to go.... why leave and have to pay that out of pocket expense..... unless of course it causes you more harm in your personal life or whatever....
