Our kenworth's are rattletraps, glad we are going to the Cascadias.

i'm not impressed by the 680, although i still think KW is one of the better companies out there.
Irregardless, the fuel tanks are either too small OR there's only ONE! i sometimes have to fill up twice in one night with my volvo----and i have twin 75 gallon tanks. So imagine what i'd have to do with the new ones!
Also, not enough caster.
anyways:

Not doing too well. -
Considering i use to run around 2800 miles pulling Oversize to reach that kind of pay. Your doing just fine. LolBob Dobalina Thanks this.

Right. It's only lame compared to 100k+ drivers. There are still drivers out there who sleep in a truck for weeks at a time who take a whole year to make what he has in a little over 6 months.MACK E-6, FlaSwampRat and SidewaysBentHalo Thank this.

Here's another way to illustrate my point: my wife has a PhD (roughly 10 years of post-secondary education) and is called "Doctor _____" at work by her colleagues and clients, and she has earned just a couple grand more than @Russian Rabbit has so far this year. Maybe some perspective is in order.
Those of us who make really good money tend to forget where we came from, forget how much better we have it than most other truck drivers, and not realize we are actually in the top tier of earners in this country. I make more than most college graduates I know, including many master's degree holders and some PhDs. I'm pretty grateful that despite dropping out of college myself, I've been able to do very well with this career.MACK E-6, Nathanos, FlaSwampRat and 3 others Thank this. -
Removing most liberal arts degree holders that I know I’m far behind I think I make the least of all my close peers and im at 46k so far this year. Now I am light years ahead of all the guys I decided to dropout of college with. But shockingly all my hs diploma only no college whatsoever are killing it one realtor does about 170k, one is a finance manager at a ford dealer does almost 300k and he was by far the dumbest, and another in commercial plumbing sales does close to 200k also.Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

I’d love to use my college degree and have “normal” hours being a teacher but then we wouldn’t have the house in the area we are in. I make almost double what a high school teacher brings in. But having summers off would be sweet.
SidewaysBentHalo, FlaSwampRat and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Well said. My wife has a masters and I made more than her when I worked for UPS and I make about the same now as a welder. There are some very good options out there that people often don't consider.Bob Dobalina and SidewaysBentHalo Thank this.

1) Not doing so hot, as you can see. Still not driving a suburban......wonder why......?
2) Running tail OFF. Having a blast, going to terminals i have never been to/or terminals i haven't been to in a while. Everything is totally random and unexpected----this is one of the "advantages" to extra-board.
3) Despite the fact that i don't like volvo, i think our fleet is pretty well maintained.
Any other questions, i can try to answer them.
4) Latest listening: NOTE these are very negative and i really don't want you to listen to them, but until i find stuff more positive (there's really not much good in podcasts):
See, this is your biggest problem when running linehaul----what to listen to.
Human Monsters on Apple Podcasts
epidsode 1 is SO captivating, but it's horrific and sickening.

i don't want you to listen to these, i'm just posting what i've been to lately.Last edited: Jul 20, 2019
