If you are driving and hit a vehicle in the rear you are at fault, chargeable accident.

If he had a forward facing camera and it showed that it did happen like he said, would he still get a ticket?

This is a great argument for "dash cam" alot of companies are starting to do it for insurance reasons this would clearly prove your point if you had vision of them cutting in front of you however as it stands its your word against there's, now its possible you could find the people in the car would admit responsibility however that's a really really rare occurrence these days.

He still was following too closely for the conditions. Again unless the vehicle in front is actually backing up, any rear end hit the to fault of whoever has the front end damage....

OR if that other vehicle had JUST moved into the lane ahead of you and then abruptly stopped. For example, somebody cuts in 6' off your front bumper and as soon as they are in the lane stand on the brakes, your dash cam will probably clear you. If you had enough time to slow and create adequate distance and failed to do so, as in they cut in front of you and 3/4 of a mile later you're still 6' off their bumper when they stand on the brakes, it's your fault.

In all honesty you are wasting your energy and effort. There are some people that will never fully understand this concept.

What about receiving a citation for running a red light in Ludowici Georgia? I almost guarantee that light was rigged. There was no count down, there was no electronic sign. Just a stoplight in the “middle of nowhere.”
The speed limit was 45 mph and I slowed to 30-35mph anticipating the light. It didn’t change until I got a close distance to it, hauling ~50,000lbs mind you. It went from green to red in about 3 seconds. A car decided to hold its horn at me before their light turned green and got the attention of a police officer that was coming out of a store and saw me not stopping. I came down to about 10-15 mph and ended up almost stopping in the middle of the intersection so I kept going. The words that came out of that officer was, “I made no attempt to stop.”
How can anyone say that when they saw nothing and knew nothing that was going on in that driver seat?? I lost my job because of it.

They fired you? For just running a red? Or was that the last straw?
