@1951 ford typically on a full refurb they cut all the running gear (front and rear) off, and strip and blast the bottle down to nothing but a big bare tank setting there. Then they reweld all brackets, new suspension, all wiring, hoses and lines.
Basically everything new but the bottle itself. Theres several 1970s, 1980s and 1990s bottles out there running. Alot of work that's for sure. -
No, still a cross dresser.

Wow!! I'm guessing there's pressure tests on the tank and fittings as well, or do they do those on a more frequent basis?
I looked into getting my "R" stamp to repair pressure vessels a few years ago, which included welding "attachments" such as these onto them. With that certification, a fella can write his own paycheck. However, by the time you get through all the testing and paperwork (the weld test was the easy part), I was looking at north of $25,000. Then there is insurance that runs $30,000+/year, along with a few other expenses. It didn't take long to top $60,000 before you ever fired up the pickup to go to the first job. -
Gas= for washing parts
Alcohol=for drinking
Diesel= for hauling
Nitromethane=for racing!

Exactly!! I know we talk a lot of trash about brands on here but I'd never mix brands! And as long as it's cool I don't care who's emblem is on the grill! Truck or car!
