Thank you, I didnt even consider them, but I have seen them around.

Swift..... I think you all know why, but I just had a bad 3 years with them, mostly because I was stupid to do lease op.
Watkins Shepard was pretty bad at the start, then I was moved to the best job I ever had was furniture delivery. I was averaging 1300-1600 and that was two loads with 17 stops each. I was supposed to get 3 loads, so they moved me to a local position, and due to how far I had to drive for just 17$hr.
Hub Group was a great local but due to relationship issues, I needed to move. I chose to move to Vegas since it's cheaper out here than in SoCal. They didnt have any openings. Running out of time I chose Jet Set intermodal for Schneider and was supposed to get a 10k bonus, or so I thought. They stated since I was hired with W&S which they own they wouldn't pay me the 10k. So I left them after obtaining my Twic a month later.
Most of these job changes happened last year btw. United Road is only paying about 1200 take home every two weeks..... occasionally 1700 take home.

United Road is great work with car hauling, but the pay is Bi-weekly, and I'm averaging 800-1300 take home. If I didnt have rent/bills to pay, I'd stay for a year then run for Hogan.

I dont no who to recommend. But I'm gonna give unasked for advise. Research carefully, very very carefully whoever you go with next. If you continue your current record of job hopping. Soon you will find only the largest most sucky megas will hire you. And if the economy slows down even they will give you a hard time. So be careful and picky who you go with next. Then stay with them at least two years. Ya ya I no mind my own frigging business.

Main reason for posting here. I'm not wanting to jump around, but I know how it looks. That's why I'm going to take my time, but I dont want to waste too much like I have. My finances are bad, worse now, then when I started. I've been checking the forums, and other places to get a general idea.
However, I did jump into United Road without having the full picture. So, yes i will do more research, and make sure i can go in with a clear picture.
On that note does anyone know about Marten, CFL, I'll be calling Night Train tomorrow. IWX is still a possibility, but they state on their website you lose your benefits if your not full time.

The alternative route goes through Laughlin/Bullhead City, not Needles.

I guess it wasn't as direct a path as I thought. I haven't driven CA163 & AZ68, so I don't know about their condition or 2 lane/4 lane status. From Vegas going to Yuma I'd usually take California 95 South to I40 East and then I'd take Arizona 95 South again (there's a 95 South in California and a 95 South in Arizona, 2 different state highways that run basically parallel, but on different sides of the Colorado River) down to Lake Havasu City and on down to Yuma. I knew I40 went to Kingman, didn't realize it added so many miles. I've only ever gone to Kingman from Yuma, never from Vegas. Anyway, thanks for the added information.

Over the past couple of decades 2-lane highways in this region all became 4-lane, with the one exception being the CA section of the Needles Highway, which connects Laughlin and Needles along the west side of the Colorado River (it's also bumpy as &*^@). Except for in town, the 163/68 route is 4-lane/65 all the way with just three lights (one of which is usually green) in Laughlin/Bullhead City plus that one bad light in Kingman by the TA at I-40. The speed limit drops to 55 about five miles out when you're heading into Kingman. Trucks were banned on US 93 during 2001-2010 because Hoover Dam is a terrorist target, but I would guess it was also partly because the NV side of that route was crazy for 18-wheelers. Drivers were always getting on the CB to alert oncoming truck traffic that they were about to go through a bad hairpin that was real tricky for two trucks at once. It would have had one of those "trailers over 40' not advised" signs if it were in CA...the reason I know this is because I've taken 53' trailers on those routes before :) As for coops, the one on US 93 is at the junction with AZ 68, so all three routes go by an AZ coop.
