I've been with CFI since April of this year, I'm a rookie to this profession, I've only had my cdl since Jan. I know that CFI isn't the highest paying company out there, but I'm willing to bet the intangebles more than make up for it...case in point, I was married this past August and only had 3 off days banked, my fleet mgr. gave me a whole week off and about a week before I was given time off, they kept me running close to home, in and around Tenn. They are fair about spreading the miles around, I get my fair share of long runs with the short ones. Everyone I have dealt with in the company has always talked to me as an equal and with respect. I've always made it a point to do what they expect of me and be where they want me to be when they want me there. I know I have a lot to learn and pray I never fall into the category that there is nothing left to learn, but I'm happy where I'm at and am proud to call CFI "My Employer"

They give us 1 day off for every week out, another thing with our off time, say for example you have banked 6 days off, the next time you take off, you only take 3, the other 3 is banked and they roll over at the end of the year, you don't lose them, when I was with my trainer, he had something like 30 off days banked, Whenever he wanted extended time off, he would just use those and cashed his vacation in at the end of the year. Something else about CFI, They are always on top of their paperwork, whenever you turn in an expense sheet ( tolls, scale tickets, etc) you see those reimbursements on the next paycheck, I've never had a problem with it.

Wow...after reading this post, I have inserted CFI as one of my primary companies to start with:

    Maverick
    Roehl
    CFI...

With SN and CRS as backups.

    Great thread...

I know a few of my buddies that are going to Drumright under the JB Hunt flag. Tell us about the school down there and all they do.

    Re.: tken's post.

tken, I can't tell you whether CFI is the best, but I can tell you that Central Tech is absolutely top notch.

Did they just start this? I left in March of this year, they had never said a word to me about idle time....ever. And I rarely turned my truck off, except in winter.
