Oh yeah! I grew up around Darl, Rick Ferkel, Dick Liskai an all them boys!

 

####ing Ferkel. Man I drank some beers with Rickey Jr. But before my time, dad told a good story about Rick. Findlay Ohio 25 lap feature, caution comes out because Ferkel looped it out. 3 laps to go. They drop the green and Ferkey passed every car in 3,4 and down the front stretch to take the lead. Rolls her about 20 times into 1 because he never lifted.

 

So I just done the Google on that truck an it sez its a 1949 Diamond T 509. Sure looks cool in my book!

Yeah he was crazy in a car! Daddy told me bout the time he scattered it at Terre Haute an they hauled ace home n pulled the motor outta Daddys Vette, set it in the car an him n Rick stood on the open trailer while Ricks wife drove, puttin the injection and stuff on it goin to another race... said if ya dropped a tool, it was G O N E!
