Among the ones you mentioned only TMC is even remotely worth a look. TMC is being very selective in who they hire these days and flatbedding is definitely an acquired taste. Good luck and by all means avoid the driver mills.

I have a friend who is training with Werner right now. The thing that sticks out the most of everything that he has told me is that what his recruiter told him was just about all lies. Although he is in training, he is making .26 cents per mile. His "Trainer" he says has only been driving for a year and a half. They are already running as a team. When I asked why so soon, he told me that as soon as his "Trainer" logs the 20 hours of observation per week he does not place a much emphasis on the "training" portion of his job.

    Do your homework with Werner.

Take my reply with a grain of salt, as I am still active duty and not a Driver....yet.

Best of luck to you, Sir.

A year and a half is enough experience to train another driver. It's the 3 or 6 month wonders that you have to watch out for.

    Fratsit Thanks this.

Thanks for the feedback, OO. What are your thoughts as to running as a team, so soon?

It takes a brave soul, or an idiot to sleep behind someone with little or no experience. And I've ridden with people who had 10 years experience, I wouldn't sleep behind.

In answer to your question, no it's not a good idea. You're not getting the best training possible. But it's still a crap shoot.
