Isn’t it hotter than heck sleeping on top? I have a APU and everything from the top bunk up is miserable. And that’s with the curtain blocking off the front of cab.

Factory was a mattress on top of the lid over the storage at the back of the sleeper. I kept the lid and storage and just had a bench (kind of like what KW does) along the back and a chair and table on one side.

Hot air rises. But I was thinking to get some ducting that would route ac to the top bunk specifically to solve that issue. Just gotta figure out how to make it so it take minimal space

Heck order a THREE BUNK Freightliner and take out the two in back

Think of all the room you'd have to work with. Just sleep in the front bunk above the seats

If its not your truck its a expensive bad idea. Most of these companies will charge the cost of using all new factory stuff to restore that missing bunk back to OEM condition.

The top bunk is hot as heat rises. Is that acceptable to you? try it out first. ;)

You can do it fairly easy, lift bunk and look at the framing underneath, that’s the only real issue. Cutting the center front wall out, and making lids to cover the side compartments. You can do whatever you want. New Freightliners have a Murphy style bed, or so I’ve heard. My wish list plan is a futon, against back wall. Like a kw studio. And a Murphy bed to pull down, after folding futon down. Don’t want to sleep on futon, too uncomfortable. Probably leave bed set up, but occasionally, fold it up, and set futon up, when laid over. Condo is hot up high. Big waste of space.A/C can’t keep up during the day. If you have an apu that cranks it out, may not be an issue. I plan on looking at the new freight liner Murphy bed sleepers. Just to get an idea. I’m sure dealer will charge thousands for one. But one can be made easily. The hardest part is planning, and assembling it inside the bunk, since there’s a limit to what will fit through the passenger door, with seat removed, or through sleeper door.
