I've used that excuse more than I care to admit.
Looks good!! If you get a chance, grab some 1/8" 7018 rod and play around with those. The 1/8" 6010/6011 is a great root pass rod at 95-100 amps for stuff like that. Put that in first, wire brush the slag off and come back with the 7018 around 125-130 amps.

6011 is a deep penetration rod usually used on the root pass to get right in there like Grubby into Big Red
