When i picked up my first truck, i noticed that there was this 'writing' on the windshield. My first reaction was it was brand new glass, but then notice there was a scrape caused by the wiper arm on the passenger side. Upon closer examination, the previous driver who had that truck, used a erasable paint pen to write directions down in the upper left corner of the glass. Helps keep your eyes on the road, and you're not looking down at directions off your QC or a notepad.
you can pick them up in different colors. I picked mine up at a Hobby Lobby for $5. lasts for about 2 months. I made a stop delivering some tile in PA, and the guy asked me "get a new windshield?" i said nope...those are my directions. He seemed to be really amazed and thought it was a great idea. Seeing how he was a straight truck driver for the company, he said he'd have to try that.BulletTooth and dgarrett0008 Thank this. -

Yep we use the dry erase markers alot ourselves. Not as easy at night, what I have is a big dry erase board I write my directions in huge letters. usually I can see it with just the footwells.

this is for pnuematic or tanker drivers:
pretrip checks, verify hoses and adapters required for ANY job in good condition and ; make sure bottom covers and top lids secured; have sample bottles available and ppe (personal protective equipment); some specialized jobs require air respirators-have extra filters available and REALLY when was the last time it was fit-tested??? -
I found a nice set of ear plugs helps when driving as a team to get some sleep or even when at a truck stop parked inbetween 2 reefers running. It wont cut out all the noise but does help.

"Wait a minute, We'll call the steering wheel a "mouse"! (wahahaha)"
I just want to know how do you get that mouse to sit still while your going down the road? Also exactly what do you hold on to? Sorry,I got off subject.I was Just wondering. -
OK - here's my tip. If you run hazmat loads and your trailer has those placard holders, you can keep your placards from blowing out by 'rock locking' them in. Just find a couple of small pebbles and place them between the placard and the metal strap that goes across the holder. Make sure the pebble fits snug (but don't use one so big it bends the strap). This will keep your placards in even in really strong winds.
