I know for part time employees that is the case.
    But for Feeder?
I started in 2015 and got insurance after 15 days although it was supposed to be 30.

Im unsure of freight side. Tried looking it up on their contract but didn't see the language for it.

Was just citing parcels. Think its 9 months now. Guess i should ask instead of reading forums and drawing conclusions but thought you had to have months in before the benefits kicked in like vacation and such.

Okay so I confirmed... they said the background check takes THIRTY DAYS.

that's right: up to 30 days!!!

the manager said, "well one guy it only took two weeks... but he really had his stuff in order".

so... is New England UPSF just abnormally SLOW in onboarding new employees? I did the pee test, road test, and physical a few days ago now... another month of waiting... look I've worked in secure facilities before, and it took no more than a WEEK to run the background!

I am still more or less committed to following this process thru, but the length of time it might take and the fact that UPSF local competitors keep raising their offer to me... all the while I'm burning thru my savings... it's starting to make me reconsider!

    what do you guys think?

i don't remember it taking THAT long, but it did take a while---maybe 2 weeks?

    i really don't remember.

The other thing to consider is that you are going to have to go to H-town for orientation----so there's another few days of not making full days pay(or at least no O/T). Although you will get paid. Hotel is ok---they have two pools. And a bar/nightclub on premises that i'm impressed by.

Can you find a gig at a temp company?

    1) What is your mortgage/rent payment, if any?

    2) Any car payments?

    3) How many shorties you got?

    List actual documents.

    P.S.
"New england" upsf (not sure of the actual division name), IS ------"different." Translation, a little F'd up compared to other divisions.

    p.p.s.

BTW, what terminal are you at? This could be a big factor as to "what do we guys think....."

I don't think that is for full time employees. I'm sure feeders is still 30 punches to get health insurance.

Part timers used to wait 12 months for health insurance. With the new contract it is 9 months. This might be where the confusion came from.

Hang in there if you can, it will be worth it! Call temp agencies and see if you can pick up a week here or there. Doesn't pay the best but it's something coming in instead of everything going out.

I was under the impression the only thing that 30 punches was for was to get the union protection and effectively end the probationary status. However if i can hop on insurance to I'm not going to complain. My current coverage sucks.
