in 2004 Moberly DC rejected my load. It was a load of strawberries. CHRW sent me his warehouse in Bolingbrook and got unloaded there. Next week I sold my reefer. and I am happy I did it.

TQL or not, I am a devil's advocate here. The OP failed to fulfill his obligations and cannot expect to be paid both ways. A break down does not give anyone a pass for a service failure. Truck break downs are his problem and his risks. Too bad, they get only bigger with perishable products. Maybe he should have re-powered the trailer with a Pensky rental... Good for him that the product was received back and there was no claim on it, at least yet.
Just a punch in the stomach every one of us gets every now and then. Get over it and move on.

not everywhere and anytime you can find a Pensky rental truck. My turbo was blown on I-10 near Fort Stockton, TX. I had a dog food inside of my dry van. Delivered it 3 days later. You need to prey sometimes when you have perishable load. ))) yes its a service failure and it can happen anytime.

True. I had to rent a car to move back to Chicago from Youngstown, OH to rent from AIM lease there. There were Pensky, Ryder in OH close by and had nothing available that day. That's not the Broker's or WM's problem though.

That's why I was thinking that pulling reefer with own authority must be better with a new tractor and trailer.

    KB3MMX Thanks this.

Of course there was product issues.. From the moment the product was harvested the clock was ticking. Three days late is three days less shelf life for Walmart.

Be thankful for the deal you got, next time rent a tractor and deliver on time. Imo, no one owed you anything once you failed your obligations.
