Rand McNally Support Thread. (Part 3)

So it seems Mark Kling is MIA now, on the phone now with RM support. Guy is more concerned with me not having a 2.5yr old receipt than with fixing my problem. Pretty #### simple, serial number in software is incorrect, has been since RM repaired the device (ticket 1069043). As a result, I can no longer get updates via WiFi. I sure hope they figure out how to assist me with this issue, I know Mark would have given it his all

Having power issues with my 740 also...it shuts off with full battery every 2-3 hours

I called tech support July 5 th had to leave a message now Aug. 3rd no call back. Sooooo don’t hold your breathe if you leave them a message. 10 years of rand products and always a problem. Apparently now the satelites are broken so I guess it does no good to upgrade my 740.

 

Unfortunately they don't seem to do much with messages. You have to keep calling them during working hours until you get a human on the phone. Didn't used to be that way.

 

Is ther a way to change the distance that POI's are listed as?
They appear to be measured point to point instead of length of roadway.

 

No. But if you add one to your route it will give you a good distance then. Don't you love it when you're in Wisconsin and it tells you there's a truck stop in Michigan eighty miles away.
