It’s a Cummins. My dpf filters were changed right before purchase so they’re warrentied, hopefully it’s that simple though

Whenever you buy a truck that has new dpf filters it is a red flag, the previous owner probably spent a fortune trying to get it to regen correctly and finally gave up on the truck.

They replace or clean the filters so the lights go off long enough to sell the truck, shortly after the new owner is dealing with the issue.

When replacing the dpf or baking it, keep in mind that some are in two or three pieces including the scr make sure you check the whole thing. Run the truck and check parameters to see if your sensors are working correctly. The scan tool only relays what the ecm is getting from sensors, so if it's not within specs. They can be damaged and giving false readings to the ecm and in turn the ecm will derate.
