OK, serious question here. I know the CRE lease options pretty much suck, but looking at the numbers, is it a decent deal to go O/O with them.

If I buy my own truck and lease on to them, the truck payment will be better, as well as the cost of insurance. I can pick up a decent less than five year old truck for less than $30,000 around GA.

This route looks to be a decent way to O/O with less than 1 year recent experience and be pulling reefers, which is what I used to pull back pre-Army days.

Is there anyone out here doing this now with any opinions?

From what I can remember they have a certain age restriction on trucks that they will sign on. That is if they are still allowing a reall O/O into the company. Five year old truck mught not cut it with them, if it did you would probably only be there for a year with that rig. I could be wrong but seem to remeber something like that.

Their website says 5 years old or newer to sign on. By my numbers, a payment on a truck newer than 4 years old would make this deal impoosible to survive on. But even at their lowest rate and averaging 2000/ week I think I could do this with a 4-5 year old truck to get started.
