ive been looking for any and all local jobs in the new york area and parts of northern new jersey. to try and find atleast 1 cdl class a job i dont care if its dump truck, picking up spare parts, transporting food or anything! i just want the experience and i cant find anything that will hire recent grads! i have no prior convictions of any sort and i have a clean driving record been driving since i was 18. anyone know of any local jobs out here in NY? any ill even get extra endorsements if i need them (already have tanker and passenger) i would really appreciate it."i want all the experience i can get i hope to drive fuel trucks" if you guys know of anything or can lead me in the right direction.

p.s i did not look into the big companies im scared lol heard wayyyyy too many horror stories about big truck companies.

    Hey Malea,

I agree with you big companies scare me also. The problem is every one will say don't go with the big companies but it seems to me that they are the only ones offering to give us the experience needed to get those jobs.

Darned if you do and Darned if you dont anyway good luck and dont give up. You will find something just may take some time.

Its a catch 22 most local companies wont hire drivers that dont have 1-2 years of exp. And a lot want at least one year of OTR exp to boot.

Well bird in hand is worth two in the bush- I live in Jersey. Wife and I are team drivers OTR is way better for us.

As far as local jobs when we were looking I got a call from YRC glen more.
Said they were looking for northeast regional drivers. My advice start with the A's and end with the Z's apply to them all, in this economy, any job is better than none.

Why did you have to put that spoiler in there?I have to admit I'm 34 yrs.old with no kids and I like the "Harry Potter" series.Childish fantasies, no body can be completely free of them.At least I'm willing to admit it.
