How Difficult is it to Remove a Bendix Wingman System?

    Yeah the only thing is you have to remember to go through the steps to shut it off every time you restart the truck, lol.

    Bendix will lock the brakes anytime it determines a collision to be imminent. Sometimes that even happens with nothing in front of you.

    I had a test unit for one company , talked to engineers several times about it . Their reply was "Oh you have ABS to handle that " . Glad to know no trucks have wrecked since 1994 ... Over head signs , overpasses , parked cars on the side of the road , and road signs can cause 80% brake application, and full jake brake power on the system I was testing .

    That will also kill the cruise control.

    For an owner op, best way to get rid of that would probably be to find a truck with similar specs but without the CMS, and order a new ECM with the VIN off that truck.
