So I went to trucking school got my class a got out of school got a job at small mom and pop company, was hired as a class a and I did that for 2 months the guy I was "evidently covering for who was out for personal reasons" came back so they offered my class b job to do until I find another class a job, so ive been doing class b for a month now.
I'm local home everyday, I don't mind one or two overnights a week. Alot of ltl companies are 99% dockwork. I didn't get my cdl to do dockwork, I don't mind unloading with a pallet jack as I do that now. Alot of these companies ive seen advertise out of York/Harrisburg PA but are nowhere near here. I don't mind doing class b if I got enough hours but the dream was to get back to class a.
    Anyone have any advice?

    DTP Thanks this.

JB Hunt has a Harley-Davidson account in York.
I'm sure we can come up with some more choices also.

I don’t blame you about the dockwork, I won’t do it either. I didn’t spend $4000 on CDL school and a decade out here driving to do #### I could have done for nothing. I’m either driving the truck or driving the lift, one or the other. I’ll take the former.

I did see that on indeed, do you know if those guys work on the dock when it's "slow".

I've talked to xpo when I first got out of school and he told me for example if you do p&d and there's no work you do linehaul and if there is no work there then you do dockwork.
