I did that to Panther Expediters. They quoted me $3/mile rush delivery and around $2-$2.30 standard delivery. Short mileage was around $4/mile or so.

I asked them how much it costs for overhead to the truck. "Oh it depends but usually they break even at about $1.60/mile"

LMAO.... gotta love business, ey' fellas?

figure it out, ch robyourson increased profits in this economy by ripping off oops taking a minimum of 30% off every load posted and getting more customers by offering rates that are after they take their cut are less than a dollar a mile to the trucker, . they make money whether you do or not as long as guys haul it they will cut the rates as low as they can get away with.

They do a good job of pretending like they are losing money, though. "What are ya lookin' at?" "uuuuh $1.15 a mile?" "Oh the customer isn't even paying that much...I don't even have that much in the load." Gimmie a break! They're paying you $1.60/mile and you know it.

Don't just settle for what they tell you or put on there. Talk them into giving you more that's the way you do it. If we all just hauled it for the price they put on there we would never make any money.

Last week I ended up in rochester, ny wanted to go back south and saw PRO TRANSPORTATION posted a load that I was interested. Called them and was offered
90c/m. I had to sit and waited for about 2 hours until this XXX. Broker posted the same.
Load for 1.50/mile. I know the economy sucks right now but we the carriers shouldn't
Allow these brokers to slap us on the face!

now many loads i did 2 years ago are paying half of what they did then that's why my truck is mothballed
