0 to 60 mph Times

There are too many variables to answer that question. Even
if your talking about a bobtailing truck. The company that
I worked at the longest changed their trucks over the years.
As they went to all computer controlled trucks the horsepower
went up for pulling but they would go 0-60 slower with your
foot on the floor for fuel conservation. So say if I were useing
an old loaner and my friend was in his new company truck and
we were running together pulling the same weight I would leave
him at a stop light but he would pass me on a hill. Same basic
cummins engine but different horspower and fuel managment.
If your an O/O I guess you can have them set up to go really
fast 0-60 if its your truck. But if your putting another driver
in it all you care about is saveing fuel. I never timed myself
going 0-60 but I hope this helps you to be more specific in
your question.

 

In my US Xpress Freightliner with a Detroit 60 series Automatic, hauling Full gross 80,000 lbs i can do 0-60 in about 2-3 miles if i remember correctly so about 5 minutes, with less weight like right now i have 25,000 lbs in the box i can proably do 0-60 in 1 mile or 2 minutes

In the interests of scientific research, I'll stop in the slow lane of the highway tomorrow afternoon and time it out LOL. I don't have long enough between lights on the city streets to measure it up that fast LOL.

 

0 to 60 mph sometime today.

 

depends on load weight......they are not fast in the get up and go stance.
