Slow. Its at my parent's place 11 hours away so I only get out there once every month and a half or so. But I get a lot of stuff lined up and put a solid couple days into it when I do get out there. I've found a shop near where I have the truck. I'm going to get them to hot tank and machine the block, set the cam bearings and possibly do the head if I don't see anything obvious like cracks or errosion. Hopefully I'll have that all done in early August. I'd like to get a new steer axle and springs as well then I can finish up the rolling chassis.

Thinking I'm going to plumb and wire everything from the cab mounts back and just terminate everything at a bulkhead inside the frame rails. Then I can wire and plumb the cab on the shop floor and it'll be more or less plug and play when I drop the cab back on.

There is a couple different style RGN (mechanical or hydraulic) and the coupling mechanism vary from manufacturer for the most part.

Short answer. The deck which is the main platform on the ground has large pins sticking out and the neck has large brackets that hook into those pins. The best thing to do it check out YouTube and look at the various styles.

I've seen that. Just curious as to what goes on inside the neck that makes it actually lift the deck. I see there's big hydaulic cylinders on them so I can only assume there's some kind of linkage in the neck that does the magic.

Thats a nice lil pickemup ya got! I can get a late 80s 3/4 ton 4x4 off my cousin Ron for 600 with no motor. Its not in that nice a shape but has a 4in wheel lift on it already.
