......The Carolinas.
I have listed some job leads that are in my "Neck of the Woods".
Please post any leads or suggestions that you may find.
If you don't have a CDL school that supports your search efforts, even years after you have graduated, then you could check with other schools.
If they think you are a potential student, then they will be glad to tell you who's hiring. This is a common question, for those who search and research.
I obtained the following from the Truck Drvr Trng Sch that I went to, Charlotte Trk Drvr Trng Sch, Chlt, NC.:
Please NOTE: these are available, current listings. They are not limited to, all jobs that may be available.
I will post in addition as well.
1." Covenant Transport, Inc. Hiring-more particular
2. USA Truck, hiring students for normal freight
3.
4. Star Transportation, Inc. Still hiring students

Try some schools, try some Google ask a friend...
Search and research. Let us ALL know what you find in "your neck of the woods".
Any and all input is appreciated.
Something has brought us all here. It may be that we are on top of our game.
It may be that we are not.
We all have common needs, goals and desires to obtain.
I wish to see us all make it.
Find your happiness, where ever it may be.
Best to All!

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

kickin chicken Thanks this. -
....... South Carolina
Some local jobs that I have found:
Shaw Contractors,Frontage Rd. Gaffney,SC.
Starting inexperienced drivers out at $ 17.00/hr. They are hiring for other trades as well.
They have acquired several Power Plant sites through Duke Power Contracts.
Being this is a nuclear plant job, they will be strict. You must be "certified", by the company to be able to step foot on the site.
This requires a background check.
Rea Construction, Gastonia, NC
(Road Construction).
If you cannot use your CDL to drive for a trucking co., then try construction. Heavy equipment operators are needed, most co's will train.
I have friends that work for both.
I will post more, when I can.
Best to all!Last edited: May 26, 2009
RickG Thanks this. -
Good suggestions there . I was a supervisor for MPW Industrial Services and they worked at a lot of power plants . They have vaccuum and water blast trucks that work on site 2 or 3 weeks at a time running around the clock on 12 hour shifts . Many operators don't have CDL's . Stay away from OTR for the best jobs .kickin chicken Thanks this.

Nobody wants to hire here in Michigan. All national co's advertise here, but when you call about a job, they say not hireing in Michigan.

......In Rock Hill, South Carolina
Heavy Equipment Haulers:
O/O's ???
Carolina Trailers
400 Corporate Blvd.
Rock Hill, S.C.
Send me a PM for the #, if you need.
This company has Government contracts to haul their heavy equipment, as well as other contracts.
The price per mile is insane, pays per pound/axle.
I believe they have up to 8 axles?????
Is this possible? If so, it's CRAZY.
I picked up a 53' trailer from them, as a personal favor, so we could put a band on it, whoo hoo! For a benefit that we just had. The owner there is a great guy. They are very friendly. Just shoot them an e mail or call.
There aren't but a few positions available. Great opportunity.
Call him, don't quote me. I am not sure if he was giving me his price/pm or the drivers????
"Early bird gets the worm"!!!
Best to all!!!!Last edited: May 27, 2009
